Jack A. Donenfeld has been practicing law for 37 years, both in large and medium size firms and, for the last 20 years, as the President of his own firm, based in Boulder, Colorado and Cincinnati, Ohio. Drawing both on his legal skills and his experience in investing in real estate and business ventures, his legal work focuses on capital formation, securities, real estate and multi-generational trust planning.

Jack Donenfeld’s clients include emerging and closely-held companies, as well as real estate investors and developers. He represents securities offering sponsors, including sponsors using crowdfunding as their primary marketing initiative, private equity and angel investors, as well as and real estate investors

Mr. Donenfeld’s real estate experience includes investing in and/or developing projects ranging from resort area home building, to reuse of surplus railroad lands, to fractional ownership condominiums to high-end waterfront condominiums. He has negotiated financing, drafted agreements, raised capital for and invested in several business and real estate projects outside of the United States, including projects in the Bahamas, Russia, Ukraine and Nicaragua.

Among other affiliations and activities, Jack A. Donenfeld, together with the firm, has been awarded the “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell® Lexis-Nexis®, the highest and most prestigious rating awarded to lawyers for professional expertise and adherence to legal ethics. He also has been selected for listing in The Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers™, the “definitive guide to the most distinguished law firms in America”, for his work in securities law.

Mr. Donenfeld was a Founding Member of the Real Estate Investment Association® (REIA), based in Chicago, Illinois. REIA awarded him its Real Estate Fellow designation, and REIA’s predecessor, the Real Estate Securities and Syndication Institute, a National Association of Realtors® affiliate for which he served as President, awarded him its Specialist in Real Estate Securities designation. 

Mr. Donenfeld has served as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Real Estate Law at the University of Cincinnati College Of Business Administration. He has been a Registered Investment Adviser and holds a Series 63 securities license based on examination by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Jack Donenfeld earned a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University in 1973 and a J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1976.
